Athletics Department Title IX Assessment

When was the last time your athletic program was reviewed or assessed for compliance with Title IX? If it wasn’t within the last 3-5 years, it’s time.  Let TNG’s expertise make it easier for you. With the 3 options below, we’ll help you assess your department’s compliance with Title IX. While these reviews are limited to the equity side of Title IX, they can be expanded to look at harassment/discrimination and climate and culture and can add prevention and educational workshops.

Red Flag Review: This review offers an alternative to full program reviews and advisory consultations. These reviews focus on getting quick answers in likely compliance problem areas and offering solutions. The Title IX policy for each identified issue is analyzed for the institution’s compliance status, and options to address any concerns are provided in a call with the reviewer. A written summary is provided if requested.

Program Review: A program review is a detailed review, similar to an OCR investigation, and involves collecting and analyzing information for all teams in all Title IX program areas. The review identifies potential major and minor compliance concerns in each area. Changes needed for compliance are explained by the reviewer and then the client will receive a written report if desired. Athletics facilities can be reviewed via an on-site visit, if desired. The written report will outline the issues reviewed, identify compliance concerns, and explain specific options for addressing compliance problems.
