Laker is a Professor in Counselor Education, Higher Education, Student Affairs, and Community Development at San José State University. Laker previously served as Vice President of Student Affairs and an Affiliated Research Faculty member with the Center for Research and Education on Gender and Sexuality at San Francisco State University. His research focuses on sexual consent communication practices among college students, aiming to improve understanding and practices related to sexual health and communication in higher education.
