Best Practices for Responding to Cyber Harassment, Cyber Bullying, and Cyber Stalking

This half-day workshop provides participants with an in-depth look at the complexity that technology adds to incidents of harassment, bullying, and stalking in the educational  and employment environments. Topics covered will include the differences between cyber harassment, cyber bullying, and cyber stalking, and examples of how these occurrences might show up in the K-12 and higher education environments, as well as and recommendations for best practice responses. Participants will also review applicable definitions and response requirements under both the 2022 Reauthorization of the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) and Title IX.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Participants will be able to identify cyber harassment, cyber bullying, and cyber stalking
  • Participants will be able to apply policy to incidents of cyber harassment, cyber bullying, and cyber stalking
  • Participants will be able to implement appropriate responses to incidents of cyber harassment, cyber bullying, and cyber stalking
  • Participants will be able to understand additional compliance requirements under VAWA and Title IX
