Find Your Title IX Coordinators with AAUW's Interactive Tool
All K-12 schools and postsecondary institutions that receive federal funds must designate at least one employee to coordinate their efforts to comply with and carry out their responsibilities under Title IX. These Title IX coordinators ensure that all people affected by sex discrimination in schools — students, parents, and employees — are aware of their legal rights.
Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS)
Research supports that a PBIS system, implemented with fidelity, effectively reduces classroom disruptions and student suspensions through a schoolwide, systematic, tiered-intervention approach that leads to increased student achievement. Schoolwide PBIS provides an operational framework for achieving these outcomes.
Sexual Violence Isn't Just a College Problem. It Happens in K-12 Schools, Too.
Sexual assault has become a dominant topic on the nation's college campuses in recent years, as student activists have spoken out and the Obama administration has pushed for institutional change. But it has largely remained a hidden issue in elementary, middle and high schools, where parents assume their children are supervised and safe.
