Wendy Hind, J.D., Ph.D.

Wendy Hind, J.D., Ph.D., comes to TNG with over 20 years of experience in multiple forms of alternative dispute resolution and higher education policy. With additional training from ATIXA as a Title IX hearing chair, panelist, and advisor, Dr. Hind has the breadth and depth of expertise to successfully assist universities in multiple areas.

As the former director of the Nebraska Supreme Court Office of Dispute Resolution, Hind was on the forefront in expanding ADR training and court programs in Nebraska and across the country.  She was instrumental in working with the Nebraska Legislature to be the first state to pass the Uniform Mediation Act in 2003.  Also during her tenure as director, Nebraska was recognized as a model program by the National Association for Community Mediation.

Hind’s background in higher education includes being the Vice President for University Affairs at the University of Nebraska as well as an associate professor of law, politics, and society at Doane University. In her role as vice president, Dr. Hind was a member of the president’s executive cabinet and was responsible for promoting positive relations and outcomes between the university and its many constituents. Along with being a leader on the advocacy and crisis management teams, one of her significant accomplishments was successfully conducting a campus climate study engaging over 100,000 alumni, students, faculty, and staff.

Dr. Hind’s previous experience includes roles as a senior advisor to the Governor of the State of Nebraska and legal counsel to the Legislature’s Appropriations Committee.

She is a member of the Nebraska Bar and has published and presented on issues surrounding conflict resolution, policy, and power. Hind obtained her undergraduate degree from Miami University in Ohio, and her law degree and Ph.D. in political science from the University of Nebraska.
