Tammy Briant, J.D.
Tammy Briant is an Associate Consultant with TNG. She advises colleges and universities on ongoing misconduct investigations and often serves as an external investigation resource for issues of complex sexual misconduct as well as employment matters, retaliation, and harassment. Tammy has also been responsible for drafting policies and best practices for educational institutions on a wide range of matters, in addition to assisting with policy implementation.
In addition to the Title IX expertise Tammy brings to TNG, she is a dynamic presenter and trainer on a wide range of diversity and inclusion topics, such as recognizing and mitigating implicit bias, inducing empathy, and demonstrating tolerance in the midst of differences.
Prior to joining TNG, Tammy was Assistant Dean for Student Affairs and Deputy Title IX Coordinator for Stetson University College of Law. Tammy led a team who provided support services for over 880 law students in the areas of student engagement, Title IX, student conduct, residential life, and mental health counseling. She has special expertise on the intersection of Title IX and graduate/professional programs.
She also chaired Stetson’s Student Support and Emergency Behavioral Intervention Team. Tammy serves as an adjunct professor at Stetson Law teaching a course on the modern Civil Rights Movement. The course travels each summer to cities across the deep South exploring the Civil Rights Movement and how it relates to the contemporary social justice movement.
Prior to Stetson, Tammy served as an Assistant State Attorney in the 6th Judicial Circuit where she conducted trials and mediations in child dependency proceedings.
Tammy grew up outside of Cleveland, Ohio prior to moving for college. Tammy received her Juris Doctorate from Stetson University College of Law and her Bachelors from the University of Tampa.
