Matthew Medeiros is a higher education regulatory affairs executive specializing in organizing, directing, and implementing compliance-related programs, projects, and policies. As the Chief Compliance, Diversity & Ethics Officer at the National University System, Matthew currently oversees all federal and state regulatory affairs efforts for affiliate universities in the system. He also has provided consultation and training for several Institutional Boards and senior leadership on Title IX, state authorization, and a variety of other compliance-related topics.
Matthew has over a decade of experience in higher education, and has held positions in Title IX Offices, Student Affairs, Policy/Project Management, Student Services, Academic Records, Compliance and Political/External Affairs. Matthew previously served as the senior compliance officer at both TCS Education in Chicago and Alliant International University in San Diego, CA. He has also held positions working for the City of Boston and for trade association groups in Washington, DC.
Originally hailing from Boston, MA, Matthew moved to San Diego over 12 years ago. He earned his Master of Public Policy graduate degree from Johns Hopkins University, as well as his Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from Northeastern University. Matthew is also a trained/certified Title IX Coordinator & Investigator, and a member of the Society of Corporate Compliance and Ethics (SCCE) professionals.
